K920 is a mobile flash-butt rail welding machine for field welding of rails with a cross-sectional area of 6,500–10,000 mm². It supports continuous and pulsed flashing and immediate flash removal, with a higher force class than the K900A-1.
Applications
Mainline field welding
Continuous welded rail construction and track renewal.
Projects requiring 1,000 kN upsetting force.
Integration into mobile and containerised rail-welding systems.
Key Advantages
K920 performs flash-butt welding with continuous or pulsed flashing. The programmed cycle controls heating, flashing and hydraulic upsetting for repeatable field welding.
Clamping & Alignment
Hydraulic clamping and upsetting are transmitted through the machine lever system. The clamping geometry is designed to maintain stable rail positioning during upsetting.
Flash Removal
The replaceable-blade flash-removal unit removes flash immediately after welding around the rail profile. Side-blade adjustment allows the finished reinforcement to be set.
Control & Quality
Siemens control architecture provides welding-process setting, actuator and electrical-system monitoring and real-time process information. WeldReg records welding-mode and joint data in supported configurations.
Cooling & Hydraulics
The machine uses a closed cooling circuit with coolant-flow monitoring. The complete machine includes the matched 21 MPa hydraulic system, pumping station and cooling equipment.
